The boatyard was founded in 1912 by the KIRIE family. It has always played a notable role on the international boating scene. Today the Feeling yachts are built by Groupe Alliaura Marine.
In the beginning, the boatyard built small wooden yachts.

In the 50's production leaned more towards powerboats (inboard and outboard). A racing enthusiast, the son of the founders took part on many occasions in the "Paris Six Hours" race in the 60's. The KIRIE shipyard was one of the first yards to work with glass reinforced fibreglass and very early on introduced a range of fishing cruisers.

In the 70's, the first cruising cabin boat was a motor-sailer, the "Fifty". A range was developed culminating in a 12 m (42 ft) flagship. At the same time the famous "Ange de Mer" fishing cruiser range included models from 6 to 11 m (20 to 36 ft).

In 1980, KIRIE launched a range of fast cruising yachts called FEELING. The various models of the range distinguished themselves on all seas of the globe with the quality of their construction and their successes on the racecourse.

The international flags representing the 7 letters of the brand have become the yard's hallmark and a label of quality. The Feeling 13.50 m won the Route du Rhum in 1986 in the production boat category and the Feeling 1090 was elected "Boat of the Year" in 1987.

The tradition of lifting keels started in the 1980's and the Feeling yachts are today the only GRP boats offering its entire range in lifting keel version. The Feeling 44 is the largest lifting keel GRP production yacht in existence on the market today.

Introduced in the year 2000, the Feeling 32 has been elected "Yacht of the Year" by "Voile Magazine". The Feeling 30 won the "Coup de Cœur (yacht of the year)" trophy from the French magazine "Voiles et Voiliers" at the Paris boat show in 2000 and the Feeling 39 got this price "coup de Cœur" from the same magazine in Paris in 2001 and the FEELING 44 received the "Yacht of the year" price of the magazine"Voiles & Voiliers" in Paris 2003.
