Kukljica - It is a picturesque tourist and fishing village on the island of Ugljan near our charter base and it is well connected to the mainland by car ferry. Its thick pine wood, lovely beaches, crystal clear sea and a lot of sun combine to make a perfect stop on your first day of sailing holiday.

Kukljica is usually known as the "gateway to the Telašćica Nature Park and the Kornati National Park ".  It is located at the island`s extreme southwestern point, close to the Zdrelac straits. The old centre of Kukljica, with its original example of "local people`s " architecture, is divided from the tourist peninsula called Zelena punta by a large natural inlet with a port always full of fishing boats and sailboats.  Attractive sandy beaches shaded by centuries-old pines, Sabuša, Kostanj and Jelenica, can be found on both sides of the island. A valuable monument is the famous fifteenth-century Church of St. Jerome in the cove of Kostanj. Every year, on the "Feast of Our Lady of the Snow" ( 5th of  August ) an attractive procession of boats is held from Kukljica to the Church of Our Lady of the Snow in the Zdrelac straits , where according to a legend, the snow fell in the middle of summer four hundred years ago.

The island of Ugljan  (52 km2 and 75 km of irregular coastline) lies just opposite to Zadar and Sukosan, divided only by several nautical miles of the Zadar Channel. It is covered by evergreen pine forests, macchia, fig trees, vineyards and olive groves. It has been tied to the sea, sailing and fishing for years, while its 2,000 years of experience in olive- growing has left hundreds of thousands of olive trees. Oils of exceptional quality and fine aromas are produced from these olives. Those who love Mediterranean landscapes will relish its unforgettable panoramas; one of the most impressive can be seen from the Venetian fortress of St. Michael (13th century ).  Artefacts from the Roman era, early medieval Croatian chapels, monasteries, island stone architecture and numerous villas testify to the early human habitation of this island. Over 2,500 hours of sunshine annually, stone and sandy beaches, a clean and crystal-clear sea, various possibilities for accommodation, original cuisine and a vicinity of Zadar and Biograd n/m are only a few reasons to visit and stay on this island.
